RUGGED RUNNING and SheRUGGED HOLIDAY CHALLENGE MONTH DESCRIPTIONS

November Challenge!


What: A personal challenge to help you create healthy habits that includes 5 daily checklist items and one virtual 5k walk. Prizes will be given randomly!

When: November 1st - 24th.. The 5k will be November 24th, It must be completed by NOON mountain time.

Who: For any ages and all levels of abilities as well as those already on a training program (the challenges will only be slightly extra and a great add on for you!) No running is necessary, this can be just for fitness and wellness persons too!

Where: At your home for the daily checklist, online (at Rugged Running Facebook Open Page or SheRUGGED page) for photos and such, and the 5k is virtual.

Why: To build healthy habits through consistency and education as well as community!

Cost: $50 per person. (This includes all 3 months October, November, and December). Why is there a cost? Because if we do it for free, you won’t probably hold yourself accountable, however if you pay a little for something, we hope that you will try to take action and gain value from it! .. and it does offset some of the prize cost.

The November Details: (you will receive an email with complete details on October 25th)

Your daily checklist: (will take approximately 18 minutes +)

  • Daily Training Program Item (see email and calendar once you register) This will include 15 minutes or more of some type of walking cardio (in which you can apply to a bike or run if you wish or a strength exercise like a squat (we will provide beginner to advanced options) or a yoga move. (15 mins+)
  • Read your daily health quote (see email and calendar once you register) This will be helpful stats and facts to help you learn more about wellness that will take a minute or less! (1 min approx)
  • Protein Veggies! Eat one of the higher protein veggies off the list below. Did you know? Minimally Adult men need about 56 grams a day. Adult women need about 46 grams a day (71 grams, if pregnant or breastfeeding). It’s double or more for athletes! (Green Peas, spinach, lima beans, chickpeas, asparagus, broccoli, artichokes, or brussel sprouts).
  • Gratitude Jar- Write down one thing a day you are grateful for on a little piece of paper and place them in a jar. At the end of the month, read them all!



Prizes!

Will be awarded randomly in a drawing to the participants who have completed the monthly challenge and 5k (Prizes will be given out for each month: October, November, and December) NO! There is not a 5k time limit. NO! We are not competing for who is the fastest. There will be 2 prizes per month given.

  1. Rugged Running or SheRUGGED gear pack ( that will include stickers, apparel, hats and more!)
  2. 1 Standard Rugged Running or SheRUGGED Training Program for the distance or fitness goal of your choice. (These range from 5k through 100 miles and different levels and courses. They are approximately 3 months long). And yup- you can gift it to someone else!

ULTIMATE PRIZE:

For anyone who executes BOTH months (November/December) you will receive 6 months of standard coaching (Rugged Running or SheRugged specific) that includes cardio/strength/basic nutrition/and mobility!

  • Winners will be announced on December 24th on our Rugged Running and SheRUGGED Facebook Pages as well as contacted directly.

FAQ’s

  1. Do I need to be a runner to do the challenge?
  • NO! Please join us. This challenge is for beginners, children, or even the overweight population looking to make some mild improvements. It is mellow enough to add on to any other training program you may be on!
  1. What is a sample of the exercise portion?
  • Monday- 15 minutes walking
  • Tuesday- 3x5 3-Way Lunge see video!
  1. What is a sample of daily reading?
  • Do cardio in the morning on an empty stomach, studies show you will burn about 20% more body fat!
  1. Do I have to do the challenge every month (October, November, December) to be eligible for prizes?
  • No! There are prizes for every individual month, however, there is a big prize for those who do every month and this year we are just doing 1 payment for all 3 months.
  1. How do you keep track?
  • You must post a picture of your daily challenge on our facebook open page every day or send one to michele@ruggedrunning.com to be eligible! And basically, the honor system. Again, this does not have to be a photo of yourself, it can be anything such as your workout area, fall colors, halloween decorations.. etc.
  1. Do I have to run the 5K?
  • NO! You do not need to RUN the 5k, however, you must at least walk it, complete it. If you do not have a watch that tells the distance, we are happy to accept track or neighborhood walking approximate mileage.
  1. Do I have to post on social media?
  • No, but you will need to send michele@ruggedrunning.com your pictures. But keep in mind that we are trying to build relationships here too!
  1. Do I have to post on both Rugged Running and SheRUGGED?

No, you can just post in one or the other or email Michele as mentioned above.

December Challenge!

  • Drink one 8oz glass of water immediately when you wake up (this must be placed on your night stand and you must drink it within 15 minutes of waking)
  • Meditation Challenge-

7 Minutes each morning… . Slick 7. Go through these three things daily...

1. I will let go of...

2. I am grateful for...

3. I will focus on...

Emphasizing on #3. You can take this to the next level by journaling/writing it down daily too. This can help guide your growth spiritually, physically, emotionally and mentally.
