When: Wednesday June 1st- Sunday June 5th.

What: Fitness/Hiking/Running/Nutrition Camp. Details Below. Some fitness required. (This is a high elevation camp (8,000 ft up to 12,000 ft) , please consider a 10k distance fitness base or more to adhere). It will include a lot of hiking as opposed to running.

Where: Lodging at Rugged Running Head Quarters. 29266 S.Sunset Trail Conifer CO 80433. Adventure details below.

THIS WILL BE OUTDOORS (even in less than ideal weather) Please be masked if it is a requirement at that time (currently no masks required). We will be following state mandated rules! This event will be limited to 4 people! There is a no refund policy (however, if paperwork is signed in time, transfers are allowed). And in light of a problem on our end with permitting, covid restrictions etc, we will offer full refunds.

How Much: $800 per person

Details: Join World Class athlete and coach, Michele Yates as she guides you through some of the best trails in Colorado. Michele is a certified holistic nutritionist, she possesses a degree in Kinesiological Sciences with a concentration in fitness management and has excelled in numerous running and mountain biking events from shorter distance road to ultra trails. She has been a member of team USA and participated in World Championships as well as Olympic trials in the marathon. She is a 4x National Champions at the ultra trail distances. Her experience with fitness started over two decades ago with managing high end health and fitness facilities with all levels of clients, special needs clients and children. She believes in a holistic approach and will provide the following:

  • Gait analysis
  • Nutrition
  • Speed Drills
  • Dynamic Lead ups
  • Injury Prevention
  • Agility
  • Mobility
  • Detailed follow up email with specifics from the camp as well as videos
  • Goody bag
  • And more..

Please bring:

  1. Warm gear and cold gear (we will be in both outdoor and indoor settings). • Running clothes – shorts, sports bras, socks (extra socks!), shirts, long sleeves, tights, jackets, rain jackets, gloves, hats, beanies, visors, etc…IT IS MOUNTAIN WEATHER.. we get EXTREMES within hours and it can be VERY cold early mornings. I HIGHLY recommend a rain suit. I like Ultimate Directions however, a good cheap alternative are FROGG TOGGS.
  2. Mask that covers your mouth and nose! (if required)
  3. 2 pairs of shoes that you would like a gait analysis in
  4. Traction ( removable would be best for certain aspects but icespikes are ok too)
  5. Crocks/flip flops
  6. Chapstick (sunblock kind if possible)
  7. Whistle
  8. Sunglasses
  9. Watch (if you have one)
  10. Pajamas
  11. Extra clothes for hanging around the fire
  12. Hydration gear!!! This is a must. You will need a vest or fast pack.
  13. Any personal foods/drinks you may want
  14. Bath products (Although there is a fully equipped bathroom with products for you).
  15. Headlamp with batteries or 2 headlamps
  16. Emergency hiking kit (er blanket, mini first aid kit, rain shell)

Details:

You must provide your own transportation to and from Rugged Running Head Quarters. You will have transportation to/from trail heads etc.

This camp is mostly for time on the trails here in Colorado. We will sprinkle in the above (gait analysis, strength, nutrition, recovery methods, etc as we have time or energy for :)

The camp begins Wednesday night with arrivals by 6pm. Please grab something to eat on your way, light snacks and meet and greet will proceed bedtime/quiet time (8pm).

Thursday, Friday, and Saturday we will be doing approx 15-20 miles each day of hiking/running around the Pine CO area. More specifically: Thursday- Colorado Trail from Buff Creek Access. Friday- Ben Tyler Trail up onto the Kenosha Mountains. Saturday- Staunton State Park. We will return back to RR HQ each night for a great meal and campfire fun. If there is time and energy, we will sprinkle in the other fun stuff and I can be sure to get a gait video for an analysis on Sunday morning before departure by 11am.

Tentative Schedule:

Wednesday: Arrival at RRHQ by 7:00 pm. Light snacks and drinks provided. Meet and Greet, Quit time 8:00pm.

Thursday: Breakfast 6:00 am and departure by 6:30 am to Colorado Trail Pine CO. Dinner: 5:30 pm. Campfire? Quiet Time 8:00pm.

Friday: Breakfast 6:00 am and departure by 6:30 am to Ben Tyler Trail Bailey CO. Dinner: 5:30 pm. Campfire? Quiet Time 8:00pm

Saturday: Breakfast 6:00 am and departure by 6:30 am to Staunton State Park, CO. Dinner: 5:30 pm. Campfire? Quiet Time 8:00 pm.

Sunday: Breakfast 6:00 am. Gait Analysis videos and pictures, Strength (full workout and/or injury prevention depending on how athletes feel), and mobility. Departures by 11am.
